Britney Spears may have shot a video herself earlier this week, but now it’s your turn. For her next Blackout single, “Piece of Me” the singer wants fans to give her a piece of them right back — by directing a separate video for her, with the winning clip to be played on “TRL.”

The “Britney Spears Wants a Piece of You” contest launches on Monday, at which point MTV will open its vaults of the footage shot of the pop singer over the years, including interviews, red-carpet appearances and performances. Fans who want to get their Spielberg on can access the goods via the MTV Video Remixer. Pick the shots you like, mash them up and hit “send” — clips can be up to 3:34 in length or shorter.

Looking for inspiration or guidance to see how video mashes like these have been done in the past? Kelly Clarkson, Nelly Furtado, Common and Paramore have all given their fans chances to do Web-based video remixes on the site using Adobe Premiere Express, so watch their remixes first if you want to learn the technique, and then give Britney your best shot. Submissions are due by December 14.

MTV, Jive Records and Britney herself will decide the winner, whose video will be premiered exclusively on “TRL” on December 20. That’s well before the airing of the video Spears shot this week — that won’t surface until January at earliest. The winning “Piece of Me” video will also get an all-day premiere on MTV Hits and an online premiere on MTV.com.

She just done the shooting 3 days ago, but sonybmg UK is just announcing that Britney Spears piece of me single that will official debut on January 7th will have the first video early this next week!.

They also add the video is currently in the editing stage and that the director Wayne Isham promised a premiere very soon.

NOT! She was just having fun! While waiting for Sam in her car, Britney Spears made fun of the photographers while she was posing with the orange fanta she was having.  Later on was time to shop for glasses at Target and hit the crowded bookstore.

We personally think its brilliant. It really show what is like to be her. We bet it’s not easy to have that kind of exposure.

Even being tired after being recording piece of me for more than 10 hours straight, Britney Spears and Sam went shopping last night, and guess what she got? Xmas gifts for her babies!

She was first seen shopping for some baby clothes at Targe, then headed to Barnes & Noble where she got some starbucks (yes they have the best coffee beens inside y’all!).

While at the bookstore there was such this paparazzi chaos that the singer had to call the local LAPD department so 8 officers could escort her to her car while she was hiding in the bathroom.
