Jessica Simpson Dad To be Britney Spears Manager?

Britney Spears’ biological father may have criticized her this past week but another pop-tart’s dad might become the new father-figure in Spears’ life: Jessica Simpson’s dad.According to a Rush & Molloy source, Joe Simpson has considered managing Britney Spears’ career, or what remains of it.

Joe Simpson allegedly tried to set up a meeting this past weekend with Spears, our source dishes - though Jessica’s rep Cindi Berger denies it.

While one might think a rivalry will be stoked between the two singers, R&M’s source says Jessica would be okay with the arrangement and even offered to reach out to Brit, as the two are no longer competitors.

Britney Spears has earned over $100 million from record sales and endorsements, while Simpson’s five albums only performed lukewarm. However, Joe Simpson steered his daughter into movies and very lucrative appearances, ie: next week’s performance with the Pussycat Dolls at Pure in Las Vegas.

Insiders even credit The former Baptist Minister’s guidance for helping his daughters avoid the very pitfalls that sent Spears to rehab at the urging of her family, doctors and manager.
