Justin denies sending Britney Spears a coded message at award show
JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE has laughed off reports he was sending ex-girlfriend BRITNEY SPEARS a coded message at the Brit Awards in February (07). Timberlake accepted his Best International Male Artist via videophone at the London ceremony, where he shouted to camera, “Stop drinking, you know who you are, I’m speaking to you.” The British media interpreted this as a coded message to Spears, who was partying heavily at the time and was yet to check into rehab for unspecified problems. When asked what he meant by the message, Timberlake insists it was not directed at the Toxic singer, who he split from in early 2002. He says, “Oh my god, I don’t even know anything about this. Honestly I am so far removed from that situation. A coded message to Britney Spears?”
